Cybernetics

It is possible to “improve” a person through the application of cybernetics. By replacing biological with stronger or more reliable mechanical parts a human can be made stronger, faster, and smarter. Most cybernetics require the removal or alteration of biological parts, and will leave the user reliant on their electrical systems.

Cybernetics give access to a wide range of abilities, contact the GM to determine exactly what is available. In general, adding a point worth of advantage costs $12 000 in materials and surgery. Remember that cybernetics have the -10% electrical limitation. Cheaper cybernetics that include negatives can be bought. $3000 is required in surgery per advantage point, then pay 9000 per positive point after disadvantages are included. For example, a mechanical arm that gives +1 ST (9 points) also requires One Arm (Temporary mitigator, – 70%, -6 points) has a net point cost of 3 points. The surgery costs 3000 * 9 (the advantage value), and the arm it self costs 9000 * 3 (the net point value). The final cost would be $54 000.

Note that cybernetic enhancements do not require character points to add, only raw cash.
